Yumeko then draws a bad card, while she draws a good one. It was all up to Ryota Suzui, but he succumbed to the rush of danger and chose a random one. With his selection, the game ended in a tie. This version of Hangman's Gambit can be found in the Danganronpa V3 Demo's game files, but it was never included in the main game. This set is a different, more recent version of the graphics seen in promotional materials. This set is completely unused because Kaede never has a "Hangman's Gambit" minigame.
Kaede is initially enraged when Kaito informs her that he broke the law in order to become an astronaut. However, he is later revealed to be one of the few who always supports her during the Killing School Semester, owing to their similar optimistic outlook. When the class first met, Kaede would give rousing speeches of optimism during times of distress, and Kaito would always respond agreeably, stating he would have said the same, requesting Kaede and him hug, which she graciously refused, demonstrating that despite their relationship lacking affection, they both share the same mindset. Kaede appears to appreciate his assistance, though she appears to thank him only in her thoughts.
