A psionic hormone was found in the human brain in the far future, allowing humans extrasensory abilities and transforming the world as we know it. Deranged mutants known as Others started to fall from the skies with a craving for human brains just as mankind was approaching this new age. Extreme efforts were required to combat the overwhelming menace and save mankind, since it was very resistant to normal assault tactics. Psionics, or those with acute extrasensory powers, were our last hope of surviving the bombardment from above. Psionics are still scouted for their abilities and recruited into the Other Suppression Force (OSF), humanity's final line of defense. Play as Yuito Sumeragi, a fresh recruit to the OSF who aspires to be an elite psychic like the one who rescued him as a youngster. Exploration the futuristic metropolis of New Himuka and unravel the secrets of a Brain Punk future stuck between technology and psychic talents in Scarlet Nexus, armed with a skill in psycho-kinesis. Scarlet Nexus will be available globally on June 25th for PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series X, and Xbox One.
Even though the majority of the characters in Scarlet Nexus are tropey anime archetypes (the childhood friend/romantic interest, the snooty elitist brat, the shy and soft-spoken girl, and so on), these bond episodes do an excellent job of developing them to the point where they become more than their tropes. Even the characters I rolled my eyes at at first, such as the aforementioned snotty elitist prick, Shiden, were people I grew to care for by the end. While these situations are rewarding in and of itself, strengthening your friendship with a party member will boost their special abilities and provide additional chances for them to assist you in combat. That's a fantastic bonus incentive that also plays into the concept that your bonds with these folks are strengthening.

A major concern is that, although the fighting is incredibly dynamic, with a variety of skills and powers that can all be improved in significant ways to modify how theyre utilized throughout the game, the foes you battle are not. There's just not enough diversity among them to support a game of this length, particularly when so many of them are lock and key: once you find out the appropriate ability to employ against them, every battle after that invariably plays out the same. *LAST THOUGHTS* - A game that was well worth the wait and delivered on all of my expectations. Some may be turned off by the anime-style look of the setting and characters, or by the cutscenes, which are mostly still pictures while the characters chat (albeit they are all fully spoken), but I'd definitely suggest giving it a go nonetheless. The action is enjoyable and complicated, the characters are all intriguing and distinct, the music is excellent, and the game looks amazing. I knew I'd be captivated after playing the demo, and I wasn't disappointed!
The teaser, which was shown at today's IGN Expo, depicts the game's combination of swordplay and psychic abilities versus a range of groteque foes from the game's 'brainpunk' setting. Telekinetic powers can get fairly crazy - we've seen telephone poles used as floating clubs and even a whole train tossed down the tracks towards a victim. In an interview with IGN, game director Kenji Anabuki and producer Keita Iizuka confirmed that there would be no fundamental gameplay differences between the current-gen and next-gen versions of the game, but highlighted the level of detail that next-gen has allowed them to add, as well as seamless loading times to allow for a more immersive experience. Scarlet Nexus is coming to Xbox Series X, PS4, and PC, but no release date has been announced. There's a lot more to see from today's IGN Expo, and we'll be running the Summer of Gaming throughout June. Here's the complete Summer of Gaming schedule. Along with some stunning cinematic sequences, we get brief views of an acrobatic fighting system brimming with beauty and color. With your own arsenal of powers, you'll be able to manipulate things in the environment and throw them at adversaries, leaving no adversary standing. It looks fairly nice in motion, but we'll have to play it for ourselves to be sure. Are you looking forward to playing Scarlet Nexus on PS5 or PS4?
