Branigan's chart success in the United States waned after 1990, but she remained in demand around the world and embarked on several global tours. Larry Kruteck, Branigan's husband (m. 1978), was diagnosed with colon cancer in 1994, not long after the release of Over My Heart. Branigan refused to accept the medical prognosis and quit her job in the music industry to devote her time to him. Branigan started Kruteck on herbal treatments and eventually took care of him full-time. Kruteck lived another two and a half years before dying on June 15, 1996, at which point Branigan stopped performing. [17] Official greatest hits collections were released by Branigan in South America, Japan, Germany, South Africa, and the United States; the United States collection was released in 1995. The Best of Branigan contained two newly recorded covers: "Show Me Heaven" (written by Maria McKee) and the Donna Summer hit "Dim All the Lights," which Branigan remixed several times. On August 15, 1995, Branigan appeared as a guest on the Food Network's Talking Food, hosted by Robin Leach, where she promoted the album and sang "Dim All the Lights" before preparing her Summer Delight pasta dish.
