A long time ago, on the Dragon Continent, a conflict erupted between the great mage Khazan and the demon queen Lerotra'hh the Death Empress and her sorcerer consort Khara Kang. To end the violence, Khazan offered a ceasefire to Lerotra'hh: Khazan would go into exile in return for the wicked pair's commitment to enable people and monsterkind to cohabit together. Khazan was never heard from again after Lerotra'hh accepted the plan. However, as the game starts, Lerotra'hh has violated the contract and is preparing her Dark Legions to strike. The player's mission is to eliminate this menace (by eliminating Kang and subsequently Lerotra'hh) and to bring Khazan back to this planet to enforce the peace.
